The second most important thing about photography nowadays is understanding that post-processing doesn’t come in the darkroom anymore. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t a lot you can do with proper photo-processing software.

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is a software programme for photographers, whether they are professional or amateurs. It was developed by Adobe Systems in 2004, with the Version 1 for Windows and Mac OS X first appearing on the market in 2006.

The CS6 version of Photoshop has two new colour adjustment features, using built-in intelligence from thousands of hand-retouched pictures to give you an upgraded starting point for making adjustments.

Nikon has been pleased to present the D3200 which doesn’t replace the popular D3100, but is rather a compliment to it and likely to appeal to both beginner and established photographers as it is more sophisticated that the D3100 while remaining easy to use.

Nikon has recently launched the Nikon D800, a marvellous hybrid camera that unites several of the powerful characteristics of the D4 and the body style of the popular D700 and features a high resolution 36.3MP sensor. The first batch arrived near the end of March and the D800E arrives during the month of May. This camera will set a new standard in digital photography.

It is possible to create seamless 360 degree panoramas using digital images and specialized stitching programmes such as PTGui or Photoshop. Most vendors include panorama-making software in the package when you buy their cameras.  There are several steps to making excellent panoramas and it is a good idea to use expert software and equipment.

The number one tool for any photo editing has been Adobe Photoshop, for a very long while, slightly surpassed in popularity by Adobe Lightroom in the past few years due to its ease of use and a more photographer-friendly environment (tasks that seemed daunting to complete in Adobe Photoshop are incredibly easy in Lightroom). With the constant development of the mobile world, it was only a matter of time until a touch version of the popular software would come “on a device near you”.

In these days of social networking, every aspect of our lives has to be documented and put out for all the world to see, or at least the segment of the world we allow to see our Facebook galleries. Insect macro photography is one of my favorite because there are an almost infinite number of willing subjects at my disposal and that they look so far out when shot up close. Every photographer has some days when the photos are not taking in the perfect way. We are not perfect, the weather could make taking photos difficult and your digital camera may be much more simple than you need.
