Samsung S1070 review

Samsung S1070 is a 10.2 mega pixel digital camera. Digital zooming is possible up to 5x. Samsung has provided a 2.7” LCD screen for display in this camera. The resolution of the LCD screen is 230,000 pixels.

Maximum image resolution possible in this camera model is 3648 x 2736. Other supported image resolutions include 3648 x 2432, 3072 x 2304, 3648 x 2056, 3072 x 2304, 2592 x 1944, 1920 x 1080 and 1024 x 768. It supports 3 image ratios. They are 4:3, 3:2 and 16:9. The camera utilises a CCD type sensor and the size of the sensor is 1/2.33 ". Pixel density is 36 MP/cm². Wide zooming is possible up to 38mm and tele zoom is possible up to 105mm.

Samsung S1070 only supports auto focussing. Three types of auto focussing can be done using this camera. They are Multi-point AF, Center and Face detection. Normal focus range is 80cm and macro focus range is 10cm. Built in flash is provided in this camera model. It does not support external flash. It supports 8 flash modes. They are Auto, On, Off, Auto & Red Eye reduction, Slow Sync, Fill-in Flash, Flash Off and Red Eye Fix. You can also record movie clips using this digital camera. Different MPEG-4 movie formats supported by the camera include 640 x 480, 320 x 240, 160 x 120 @ 30/15 fps.

Samsung S1070 uses a rechargeable lithium ion battery. The battery charger is also provided along with the camera. Camera supports video out and USB2.0 connectivity facility. You can connect the digital camera to your computer using the data cable provided along with the camera.
